The last seven years have been something of a roller coaster ride for the E.A.P Collective. Forming in late 2008, the journey that bonded us actually began for me in 2003. Following the invasion of Iraq something inside of me clicked, a feeling of confusion, disillusionment and anger set in. Knowing that there was really only one true way to deal with this oncoming traffic, which was to find some truth in life, I packed my bags and set off on a journey that would take the next five years of my life. Spending considerable time in thirteen countries of the Asian continent, confusion, disillusionment and anger were soon replaced by a new found wonder and awareness of what life and love were really about. With that, A Rice Paper Odyssey was set in motion years before a single note had been arranged or melody created!

Traipsing through the jungles of Nepal (Swamp Tales) , becoming dizzy with Tokyo's Disney mania (Alice’s Tea Cups) or just good old fashioned heartbreak (Love’ll Come through Again), A Rice Paper Odyssey is a compilation of experiences which tell a tale of searching for something more.

After finally returning to hometown Melbourne in 2008, sitting in a cafe with Vocalist, AGE T, A Rice Paper Odyssey’s plans were sketched out and the E.A.P Collective was born. Not conforming to traditional views of what mainstream music is all about, the E.A.P Collective are about finding the essence of the creative spirit.

The E.A.P Collective see that this album is an opportunity to tell a tale which is not solely focused on profits and/or a snatch for fame, but on delving into something more fruitful. It’s an album which will take you places, whether you be chilling out at home with it humming away in the background, or whether it be centre stage in your listening peripherals.

I would also like to thank a trillion different people for their everyday inspiration, but most of all thanks very much to the guys inside the E.A.P for your support and constructive help over the last year. AGE for your vision and enthusiasm, Stevie for your passion and Makisan for your gentle consideration.

Enjoy the music, enjoy the album and enjoy the ride...
